Check, if an account is still in use?

Sup,

a ~year ago I sold my 70 to an account buying page. Now I want him back, because I sold him pretty cheap (20-30 Euro~) and I found out how fun Wotlk is. Is there a possibility to check, if an account is still in use? Else I would just try the "being hacked" trick with Blizz.

Well, you could reset the password and check if he has any GC active. He can just put it back if he uses it, since he probably has the SQ etc.

To reset the password I'd have to call Blizz and that's my problem :P Would be stupid to get them an active account banned.

Pretend you are trying to log in, "discover" you can't log in, call and tell them your account is "missing" and possibly stolen.

Provided you kept the original CD key and original info to prove ownership, Blizzard can lock it from other player, reset the SQ and other info, and give it back to you.

How long ago did you sell it? If it's been a few months, beware of chargeback from the account sale. If it's been like a year, they probably can't recover the 20-30 Euros but they can still do chargeback if CC was used for subscription. Be sure to let them know the account was hacked and that any CC subscription was not valid.
