I thought I would share a recent ban experience with you. I was multi-boxing on 4 accounts, to level them up. And while I did trade between the accounts, I never sold gold off the accounts, as I hate getting banned and losing $300 for keys. For the record, this is one set of emails I received from Blizzard, with highlights on the reasons for the bannings. The other 3 accounts were also banned.
I find this ironic, since it shows even Blizzard doesn't know what the fark is up at times or for that matter why an account is banned.
Greetings,
We are writing to inform you that we have, unfortunately, had to cancel your World of Warcraft account:
Account Name: BLING456
Type of Violation: Involvement in online trading activities
Investigation Concluded: 30/10/2009
Consequences for Account: Account Cancellation
It is with regret that we take this type of action, however, it is in the best interest of the World of Warcraft community as a whole, and for the integrity of the game, that your access to the World of Warcraft servers be cancelled.
Online trading refers to the exchange of in-game content for real world money, and includes, but is not limited to, the sale or purchase of gold, the sale or purchase of experience in the form of powerlevelling, and the sale or purchase of honor points, reputation or items.
Account access is the responsibility of the account owner and account sharing is against our Terms of Use (World of Warcraft Europe -> Legal Documents -> Terms of Use). Therefore, should you believe someone other than yourself (the account owner) has committed this violation of the Terms of Use with your account, these sanctions would still apply, as our action is taken against the account, not the individual.

Subject: Re: Blizzard Account Administration EU -- Permanent Account Suspension
Dear Sir/Madam,
due to not being informed about the reason for the closure of my account i'd really appreciate to get to know why it has been closed.
I don't know what you think i might have had done wrong but without knowing it i can't change my behavoir nor you give anyone a chance to do so.
Of course you have the right close accounts at any time, even though they didn't do anything wrong, but without a reason it is not allowed to do so and as I've payed all the fees, the game etc.and didn't do anything apart from playing and enjoying the game.
It would be great if you'd tell me what i did wrong and open my beloved account again.
Thanks in AdvanceGreetings,
Your account was permanently suspended due to use of third party programs, which is against the Terms of Use (World of Warcraft Europe -> Legal Documents -> Terms of Use)), the relevant part of which can be found in capital letters in Chapter 17 entitled Acknowledgements, and states:
"When running, the World of Warcraft client may monitor your computer's random access memory (ram) and/or cpu processes for unauthorized third party programs running concurrently with World of Warcraft. An "unauthorized third party program" as used herein shall be defined as any third party software, including without limitation any "addon" or "mod," that in Blizzard Entertainment's sole determination:
I. enables or facilitates cheating of any type;
II. allows users to modify or hack the World of Warcraft interface, environment, and/or experience in any way not expressly authorized by Blizzard Entertainment; or
III. intercepts, "mines," or otherwise collects information from or through World of Warcraft. In the event that World of Warcraft detects an unauthorized third party program, Blizzard may
a) communicate information back to blizzard entertainment, including without limitation your account name, details about the unauthorized third party program detected, and the time and date the unauthorized third party program was detected; and/or
b) exercise any or all of its rights under section 6 of this agreement, with or without prior notice to the user."
The use of such programs or files is clearly unfair to the World of Warcraft community playing regularly and is not tolerated on our servers.
Following a review of your case, we can confirm that such program has been used on several occasions by your account, and that the subsequent action taken is appropriate. We would not look to enter into any further communications on this issue as the matter is now considered closed.
Please be advised that sanctions in relation to this matter will not be taken against any new accounts you may wish to create, but the characters from your cancelled account will remain irretrievable. If you should wish to create a new account, you will need to obtain a new and unused CD key with a retail copy of the game.

Please note: A Blizzard Employee will never request the password to your account or e-mail addressDear Sir or Madam,
I am a bit confused. I have been under the impression, that using Key Clone, a multi-boxing software is allowed. Has your policy now shifted that you do not allow players to multi-box? I would like to ask that you return me access to my account, as that is the only 3rd party software which I have used. It allows me to play more then one account at a time... but I do physically press buttons and sit at my computer when I play. I have read from multiple sources that, as long as you do not macro, that this playing style is allowed - and I do NOT use macros other then in game lua macros. Please check your logs, as I am certain that you will agree that this was the software I was using when you banned my account.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
BrentGreetings,
Thank you for your e-mail. As stated in our previous correspondence, your account was permanently suspended for involvement in online trading activities. This matter has since been reviewed and the decision was upheld.
We now consider this matter closed, and would not look to enter into further communication on the subject.
