Emerald Dream by Otherworld?

First off, I would like everyone to look at the video before I begin to discuss about this topic.

The video I featured is one done by EnhancementReznik on YouTube. It shows him getting to the Emerald Dream on retail using Otherworld. He added the file back into the folder so it re-exists where it used to. The question is this though...how legit is this glitch? He got there using an exceptable method, and all he did was put a file it seems into the folder, so all it did was re-move the zone back to where it was, with no technical way to get there (seeing Emerald Dream would just be floating around). Then again though, by altering the files in some way, is this considered hacking? To me, it seems borderline hacking to me, but I personally can't really decide that for myself.

So is this the new, legitimate way to get to the Emerald Dream, or is this a substitute for an illegal Instance Swapping hack, just made easier? Discuss.

He's not going to the Emerald Dream he's just changing the ground color and re-logging back in.

EDIT : My bad , i've mixed up EnhancementReznik and an other guy.. nevermind.
It's impossible to get to Emerald Dream using Otherworld with the original World of Warcraft Files.

That's what I was wondering as well, seeing that it would put you in somewhere other than that, but it has been proven that Otherworld might not work how we think. I had someone go from Onyxia's Lair to Stonetalon Mountains through Otherworld, no boat used. Also, it happens sometimes in Arenas.

I don't know exactly what he's doing but I don't buy that he's going to the Emerald Dream. If they have been working on Cataclysm I doubt they've been working on the Emerald Dream at the same time. I don't think it's legit.

Where did the Dream exist before? The map files are still in the MPQ's, and have been seemingly updated in every incremental patch except 3.3 (PTR and Pre-load pathches).

It exists on map 169, but this supposedly moves it back to map 0? I'm not quite so sure exactly...

I just re-looked at his video, and I thought of a couple of things.

1 - Wouldn't he appear to be somewhere else in Otherworld, not specifically there?
2 - He logs out, rather than disconnecting.
3 - His zone name clearly says the zone he's really in, and that means Otherworld shouldn't occur.
4 - If he was actually at Tirisfal, he couldn't have gone much north, as he would have died from fatigue.

I believe it's just a simple ADT (mapfile) edit. When I 'spawned' ED to Azeroth, surprise surprise, it was located in the plaguelands.

lol, live server? on the live server when using Hearthstone character at teleport does not fall from the air in the place returned Lol, so I doubt that this live server. 19 seconds video

Its a hack.

"Hacking WoW" doesnt have to mean that you actually move your character or something. Tinkering with game files is hacking.

File editing never has been my forté, so I may not be right on all counts.

Anyway. Kalimdor is map ID 1 and Eastern Kingdoms is map ID 0. Otherworld occurs because when you disconnect and log back in after zoning, the client says you're now in map ID Y, but the client inadvertently loads map ID X, where you were before. Now I think the patch that you download replaces the Kalimdor map files with those of Emerald Dream, so while you're still disconnecting in map 0, and your client is loading up the files for map 1, the files for map 1 are those of the Emerald Dream, and not Kalimdor.

That's how I'm seeing it anyway. However as I said, file editing isn't my strong point, so I may not be entirely correct. I may not even be correct at all.

Edit: I know in the video, he hearthstones from Hillsbrad to Sepulcher (which are obviously on the same map), which means that it could be that it isn't Otherworld at all, and instead the patch simply changes Eastern Kingdom's map files to those of the Emerald Dream (which would explain why he logs out instead of disconnecting, since you would need to log out and back in for the client to load the files in the patch). However, for changes like that I thought the model edit fix was necessary, although again I could be wrong.

I fell because I went to Silverpine gave heartstone when I was in the ED and there it is elsewhere npc.

Humm Rezznic also made a video where he goes to gm island by changing the ground.. not legit so why changing files to get to emerdal dream would be legit?

Of course it's nice going there but i'd never change the game files to get somwhere, much more funnier finding a proper way.

There hasn't been any 'model edit way' to ED after 3.0 hasnt there?

If there is any way how to "change it to map 0(?)" and then somehow use otherworld to get into Emerald Dream, i'd shit brix.

Please someone give more information about this
