safety of botting?

I was looking into mmo glider a while back because one of my friends had recommended it, but then it was discontinued. I heard that glider was fairly safe from scans that blizzard does on your computer. (I don't know if this is true but it sounds illegal) so I guess my question is, how does blizzard find out if you are botting? do they have any form of looking for botters or do they just ban accounts for botting when reported by other players? cause I would rather not have my account banned (sorry about the noobyness of my post but I don't know a thing about this subject)

No bot is ever completely safe. if you don't want to risk a ban... don't bot.
