A Tale of Honor, from Gustavo Costa
This is an adaptation of the culminating events of the War of the Ancients, focusing around Broxigar.

Death, it was all Broxigar could see on the battlefield. As night elves, dragons and Ancients alike were being slaughtered the orc warrior felt useless as he stood upon Sorodormi’s back. Watching his allies falling prey to the Legion, falling to the betrayal of the Earth Warder, he saw himself back at that damned mountain pass.

This time it was different, he would do what was necessary to help his allies, his friends. They were close to their objective, closing the swirling portal, but they needed more time, as Broxigar realized this he leapt of the great bronze dragon’s back, into the growing portal.

What he saw on the other side was unimaginable, a burning world. The sky was filled with fel energy, the air was foul and with a sulphur taste, and the earth was scarred, burned and filled with hot magma. In front of him hundreds, thousands of demons, marching towards the portal, and farther away, he could see a titanic figure, an enormous burning demon, Sargeras.

As the first Doomguard comes up to him, Broxigar realizes this is his moment, this was his pass, and NONE would cross it. He balances his godly axe and slices the demon in two, as the rest of the demons notice his presence they speed up their march. The old warrior does not falter and kills the next two Doomguards with a mighty cleave, rapidly behind them a pack of Felhunters advance for the kill, but are quickly dispatched as the Orc goes into a berzerking rage.

Many demons were slaughtered, maimed, decapitated, and wounded. In the end Broxigar had killed so many foul beasts he now stood at the top of their broken bodies. For the first time, Sargeras takes notice of the small orc, and leaves the summoning of the portal in charge of his demon lords.

Our mighty warrior notices Sargeras attention, and proceeds to mock the demons.

“Is that all you can do? If I knew this would be so easy I could have brought a few more orcs. Perhaps we could even …”

At this point Sargeras gazes upon Broxigar, and what the orc felt was only fear. He knew he didn’t stand a chance, he knew his end had come. But his friends still needed more time. They weren’t ready yet. But Broxigar was.

Sargeras the dark titan, wielding Gorribal, attacks the orc with a demolishing blow, the orc only had time to run, and at this point the impossible happened.

Broxigar was hit with a blast wave that sent him flying forward, in mid air he saw his chance, he lifted up his magical axe and as he hits the ground, he runs towards Sargeras burning body, he leaps and delivers a blow infused with rage, honor and all of his strength on Sargeras leg.

As Sargeras laughed in a maniacal twisted way, he smashes the almighty warrior with a single blow. Although our legendary warrior fell, what he did, the only warrior to have launch an assault at the heart of the burning legion, and the wound on Sargeras leg, it proved to be what the night elves needed to close the portal.

By focusing all the powers on Sargeras wound they were able to distract him and close the portal upon them.

Since that day Broxigar has been struck with a blaze of glory unheard in the history of the orcs.
