Hello guys,
This is HF. I've been around the forums casually, speaking with MaXe whenever I can, and trying to poke at advanced hacks for WoW and future trainers. I think you guys will like what I have next(you prob only know me publically as posting the most recent Mountain Climb offset and value of "443")
Anyways,
I need to let you know that Ursulus, who has most recently been posting in the Bots & Programs section, is a scammer.
While this person has some basic hacks, he will lead you to believe he has hacks that nobody else has. His post in Bots & Programs shows a few he claims ( http://www.mmowned.com/forums/bots-p...loat-hack.html ). You will already find it odd he doesn't accept real life money (USD), this is because it has a legal and documented trail (such as paypal; and dispute payment). He only accepts in-game gold, or items, accounts... other "unprotected assets".
Short story: you will be lead to believe and do things small at first, this guy has the patience of a saint, then eventually be ripped off.
Yes, I sorta got ripped off. I knew it was BS from the start but, thanks to my minor in psychology, I was able to pump this guy BS right back. He still thinks I manually farmed some gold I got during our discussions, which was a pissly small amount. In the end, he got on my account, sent the gold to his horde alt via a neutral AH, and deleted my character "for safety" because GMs were "on to his awesome hacks". (or, more likely to cover up he stole the gold?)
After recovering the character, and speaking to a long time friend who is now a GM, I have the gold back, the character back, and his account is going to be suspended.
I just had to know for sure about this guy.
He (and possible associates) go by the guild name "modus operandi" (or "mo", which may be a legit guild somewhere, but these guys use it for cover-up). They sport trojaned programs such as "moxp2.exe", and have AIM screen names such as "mdn" and "nanoworm". Primarily on this forum under the name "Ursulus".
The story here is also true, just lacking detail: http://www.tribalwar.com/forums/archive/t-477842.html
"mdn" and "modus" will have a ten different stories on what went on there, depending on who you are. In fact, another guy that talks to mdn has a different "real life" name for him than I do.
This guy has a lot of patience, time, and I would guess experience because he prepares everything for the scam. Beware.
Matt - I request a sticky so none of our good readers get caught up with the guy.
Post any questions.
