Changing your name?

Hey, my account got hacked from a keylogger and my main was transfered to a different realm. He is now back on his original realm, but when he was transfered back someone had taken my old name so I had to choose a new one. I know the person who took my name and they deleted that character. Is there a way now to get my name changed? I asked a GM if he could change it and he said he couldn't. Thanks for your help.

If you delete your main and on an alt account make a character with the same name as the one you just deleted, and level it to about 5. Then ask the GM to restore your main. He will and you can change your name!

No, it wasn't my username that was changed, it was my character's name that I had to change because my old name was in use when he was transfered back. I'm thinking about doing what Valmilu said and deleting him. Has anyone tried this who knows how long it takes to get your character restored? And is there a possibility that anything will be lost? Thanks again, you guys are very helpful.
