BC Character on non BC Account

I scammed this account today and merged with BNet, and soon discovered that there was a 55 Blood Elf Paladin on it. When I checked the account info then I discovered it was not BC enabled. When I try to play this character in game it says locked character call billing.

Questions are:
How is this possible? How do I get passed this locked status?

Will +Rep for legit answers.

I think your only option is to call support, or to add BC to it.

Yes it is possible if they know there secret awnser and if they can send a ID to Blizz... (did it once :P)

it depends if you merge it before the support calling center is closed then it can be in about a half hour otherwise they need to wait one day and you will have 1 day to operate.

The person who had the account must have gotten a TBC free trial, when it expired the TBC toons wouldn't be playable until TBC was purchased. In this case it hasn't been purchased so it cannot be played.
