3.1 mage dps help??

i got a mage from a friend and hes geared pretty good but i have NO idea how to raid with him. i dont know what spec to go and what rotation to use. if any good mages know what spec and rotation i should use. please tell me and help me out.

and dont please dont just say 34/1/6 or something a link to talent caluclator would be great as im not familir with mages

ya can sum1 just tell me a good build and rotation for single target dps? i have NO IDEA what im doing and im not understanding the elitistjerks forum as i dont know mages at all. im trying arcaneblastx3 and if MB doesnt proc i do arcane barr and if MB does proc i do arcane missle and cant get past 1600 which doesnt make sense as his gear is like full valor cept 1 piece of hero and all the best in slot items so idk wtf im doing. : |

AB is probably Arcane Blast. ABarr is usually arcane barrage. Just use all your dps cooldowns whenever they're up, follow the rotations, make sure your spec is right, make sure gear and shit is correct. Not alot to it.

well im able to get to 2.5k after asking my friend on a training dummy with no CD"s but even with evo and mana gems i burn through mana soooo fast

That's the problem with Arcane usually. I can't remember exactly but i think there was a rotation that conserved mana more. Hunt around the forums and EJ. If you can sift through the bullshit you might find something useful.

My spec i use ABx3, Arcane Missiles and repeat. Use your mana gems AS soon as you will get full mana back from using it, evocate whenever your mana gem isn't up and you're low. I have no issues at all with mana as arcane.

wtf i guess my recount broke. im doin abx3 then Abarrage theeither repeat or missile when MB procs and im barely able doin 1900

Considered FFB spec?
It's much easier to learn, i'm eventually moving to arcane tho.

There's a build on elitistjerks, surely, and it's really simple. This is my rotation
Apply Living Bomb / Scorch
Fire Blast
Apply Living Bomb
FrostFire Bolt

Reapply Scorch and Living Bomb as necessary
