Profession Help

Hey all,

I am planning on spending a LOT of money VERY soon. I have around 10k gold to spend (maybe 11k, need to check auctions) and I want to level up my main and an alt's professions from 1-450. This is what I am planning:

Level 56 Mage:

Jewlcrafting 100-450 (Can I do this with 56? or do I need 60?)
Another Professions, maybe mining? suggestions needed 1-450

Level 73 DK:

Engineering 1-450 (Gnome) (or should i do something else?, alchemy?)
Enchanting 1-450
Cooking 1-450

The DK is the main one, but I'd like JC too. So preference on completion would be:

Engineering 1-450 (Gnome or something else?, alchemy?)
JC 100-450 (still not sure if I can do this with a level 56)
Enchanting 1-450
Cooking 1-450/Other Profession 1-450

How much would this cost on each profession gold-wise do you think?

~Note~ I also am trying to remember how much it is for 70 flying/mount (normal and epic) since I never picked it up yet. Also, how much is 77 flying? Completely new to WotLK.

Well normal flying mount is about 1000g with riding skill and epic flying 5000g, cold weather skill for the wotlk costs 1000g and the epic ground mount was about 800g if I remember right.

First, are you going to PvP or PvE?

PvE on DK, JC & BS
PvP on DK, same or BS & Eng Gnomish

its 1kg for cold weather flying, 5Kg for epic flyer, 800 for normal, and depending on what mount you want, 200g for mount or i think 1k for the skeletal one.

PvE on Mage, JC & Enchant

Okay, well I will be PVE on both of those.

I also meant how much it would be for the professions if I don't farm anything, just buy it all on the AH.

So, BS is the way to go? I heard 3.1 had BS nerfs?

BS is the best moneymaker atm with the pre-raid epics which is the best you can get atm.

Okay I think I'm going for the following:

DK: Gnome Engineering/Weaponsmith
Mage: JC/Enchanting

All those professions will set you back more then 10k gold i think. My mate recently powerleveld just his JC and spent around 4k gold. Enchanting is even worse to powerlevel then that, so think carefully about it. Do a bit of research in regards to the prices of the mats on your server prior to committing to something,

do you have any friends online? if so go JC / Mining with another friend who has mining, then drop mining once JC is maxed to get BS which are among the two top prof's pve wise.

In my opinion Engineering is a waste of time/gold unless you just want it for the heck of it. I wasted 2k without farming for mats and just buying off Auction house. Blizzard hasn't added anything to Engineering that would be only useful for us besides Gnomish Army knife.
