    Major problems with a 4870 512MB

    My setup

    E6400
    3 GB ram
    Sapphire 4870 512 MB PCI-E
    Asus P5B
    Chieftec 560W

Anyhow, i had a 7950GT previously, and 160+ FPS EVERYWHERE from the beginning. But i guess they've added more content, thus making it more needy of good hardware.

Now, i have ~15-30 FPS which is WAAAAAY to low for my setup.

Disabled all addons, turned off windowed mode, changed drivers, cleaned the old ones away etc.

Anyone how any idea on what to do?

I have the same Gfx, no problems like that for me. I did however have a graphic glitch problem that locked my pc up with strange artifacts when playing certain games, fixed it however.

EDIT: and yes it is sapphire too.

Running Windows XP SP3 32 Bits.

Thing is, all other games works great on really high resolutions, but WoW doesn't provide a playable FPS.
Got higher FPS i a maxed out Fallout 3 than in World of Warcraft.

Well, i did clean out all old drivers with Driver Cleaner pro, guess i'll just have to formate the computer to see if it improves.

the bottleneck could also be caused by your cpu assuming by E6400 you mean ---->

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 / 2.13 GHz processor

This is a very good mid-entry level processor.

Well, shouldn't provide such worthless FPS? Doesn't matter if i run it at 3 Ghz, still pissy FPS.

    hope this helped
Wrote above that i did use driver cleaner. But i'm downloading the Windows 7 Beta now to reinstall with that one.

    But thank you anyhow.

Nope, I think that would be reversed in this case:

But the Gtx 280 costs the double compared to 4870. Bang per buck.
Besides, Gtx 285 is available now.

Anyhow, Ati got better image quality. But now that i have this card, i'd like to do the best of it and atleast get a decent framerate.
