New patch , but...

I spent the last 2 days slowly downloading this patch from the Blizz updater but now that the download is finished and i got the patch , it doesn't install like the other patches . It just sits there (in my patches folder) :




My question is , what to think of this ?
And did anybody else get this ?

I had this happen before. It was a big ass patch of some sort, I downloaded a huge chunk one week... then next week there was another part. Then the week after a little 500k part and it patched the whole thing.

Perhaps something to do with their patch distro system... or just something to keep the nooblets with slow connections (like me) happy.

The patch that I downloaded yesterday is like that, it's just sitting in the directory taking up space...

Yea, i had this happen once before. Sadly i forgot how i fixed it (i think i just deleted it and re-downloaded at a later time)

The patch is 323MB so its not a small one , i just don't know what to do with it .

i think this may have happened to me. WoW just doesnt like me and my comp, so lots of crap happens to me

Yes. It's the new patch (The one on PTR) They're just making sure we're getting some of the data before actual release. Faster and easier.
Forget about the patch, once it's out, it WoW will install it when you log in.

Ive been wondering this is just an idea, but what if we could finish compiling the patch before its released? would this give us any advantages or would those factors be held serverside and therefore held back? because i dont think its really out of our reach as we have the PTR to mix with it and we have seen how previous patches work...i dont know was just curious....

Hmm , i would think that WoW would give you a "could not recognize client version" error but i would actually be happy to be proven wrong on this one .
