First small noob repack install help

I have downloaded every repack I can find everywhere i can find them.
Tested 1000 times and experimented with every c:\ root configuration
until it started to make sense and after awhile you can see the what
the program is looking for and is asking for.such as if you don't have
mysql running then its not seeing your maps or the the db.

1.
Install repack
Run Apache
Run mysql

Check to see whats is working ok.

Shut them down properly.

Check your processes and make sure nothing is running.

Ctr-Alt-Delete for Task Manager.

2. Extract your maps mysql hates not seeing your maps and most of the time wont run.

3. Make sure you are extracting v3 maps not v2.
your extractor will tell you this at the top of the screen when its running.

4. Place your msqlstop.bat,apachestop.bat,on the desk top, so you can make sure
their stopped and started properly,9 out of 10 times you can keep trying to run mysql and it will respond.


Mysl is the main indicator that your connections,db,and maps are seen properly. These awesome repacks even ran without vmaps to(collision support).
it took me 142 times to get a wotk sys running.

The main 2 reasons for my failure to run a repack was.

1. Improperly shutting down my Apache and mysql,
because they would stay open or get stuck.

Shut down Apache and mysql from their shutdown commands
and put those on your desktop.

msqlstop.bat
apachestop.bat

2. Wrong version maps extracted for what i wanted to run...

If you are running a reg WoW or TBC sys then you need a version 2 maps (extractor).
If you are running a WOTK WoW sys you need a v3 maps (extractor).

ad.exe is your extractor when it is extracting note the version of maps it is extracting.

Repacks will respond to the right version maps especially mysql is happy to.

Your repack is a closed information highway with threads connecting them.
ounce it has everything it will run.

Most importantly,don't give up,it may be the 200th time
you have run a repack,but it may be the 201 time it runs.
