sold my wow account but i think i sold it to a scammer

ok well, this guy bought my account using 1 paypal email and he changed the email to a different email. both hotmail emails. when i did a search, the buying email was illinois and the new email i sent to was washington.

now first, what do you think happened? did he hack a paypal and buy my account with there money?

    2. can a dispute be filed? what will happen? will i lose my money and my account?

    3. what should i do?

leave your AIM or post back and ill either IM you or reply here. please help!! we transfered the money to our bank account and it is pending, what is going to happen? if it isnt his account and the person gets it back, what will happen to the money?

dude i think you are screwed..
But the owner of that PayPal account might try to retrieve the money.
but I doubt it cause that would be hard.

the money is going to be in my brothers bank account in a few days, it takes 4 business days or something. if we take it out and spend it, are we liable if the person gets there paypal account back and recalls the money, even if the money is no longer there?

so then my question comes in, what should i do? when it comes in the bank account, take it out and spend it, or wait 45 days so they cant recall the money? what would happen if i spent it ? what should i do

i mean lets say i wasnt so smart lol, and i didnt look this stuff up, i didnt know, i got payment, i spent it on everything for christmas, what can paypal do? i didnt know. i dealt with a buyer and i sold my item, got there payment and spent it. dont they eat the loss and it wasnt my fault or the paypal owners fault and they eat the loss by giving the person there money back and i keep my money?

Nothing. You're safe. You haven't done anything illegal. If there is someone to be affraid it is the guy who bought the item. There is no way that you could've tell that he isn't the original owner of the paypal account. So you haven't broken any rulles, everything is fine with you, don't worry. It is like if thief enters a store and buys something with stolen money. The shop owner has nothing to do with that, he is just doing his job =)

so if the original owner gets the account (if this is a hacker) and he sees -400USD to (me) and he recalls the payment, but the payment has been withdrawn and spent and we didnt know it was a hacker on the account, we dont owe him anything? ill be safe because i sold him a virtual game account and they cant dispute and its not my fault ?

i just quit WoW and i see the dude message me. i save all the IM logs and he seemed suspicious after i sold my account, begging for me to find him more people to sell him an account. i eventaully just told him no and when i asked his name he blocked me. suspicious, but i didnt know, he paid first, i gave account, fair deal. he hasnt recalled or anything, we sent money to bank account and want to deposit it so i can buy a TV for my room in replace of the wow account. so am i safe to buy it when the money approves to bank account?

Yes. And you had no way of knowing that he isn't the original owner of the paypal account.

well i tell my brother i asked around on a forum and that we can spend it when it approves and he goes "no im going to hold it for 45 days because they reverse the payment and i owe 400 dollars to paypal " and i say "no we didnt know he hacked the account and we legitly sold to him and he replys "nope im holding it for 45 days so they cant recall and we dont owe money."

how the hell do u fair sell a wow account then if i give ALL The info and all they do is send money and 44 days from now can easily take the money back and there is no proof that i sold him anything because its not an actual object, its virtual, no proof. so im ****ed probably and im going to have lost my WoW account and my money. glad paypal has that cool feature to steal your money back with a legit payment and be able to keep the item.
