Mage AoE 'trick'

This little trick will help your mage level up and get some money with relative ease. I know there have been several similar threads posted before but this is more of a basic overview.

So, in this example our mage is lvl 27. You need to find the lowest lvls that still give experience, so for our mage around 20-21. You then head to an area containing a lot of these and aggro a large amount of mobs. You then need to mana shield yourself, and Arcane Explosion spam until there all dead. With patch 1.11 Arcane Explosion has an instant cast so you can use it without fear of interruption. When they are all dead pick up your loot and repeat

For higher lvls, you may want to simply use it on enemies around 5 lvls below yours to make the most money and xp.

It's a really common farming technique for mages =P
If you are really skilled, you should do it against the elites in Hearthglen.

No offense or anything, but you're retarded if you plan on aoeing and you don't spec frost...

Mana sheild/ice barrier, if you have IB dont use mana shield
Group them up, rank 1 arcane explosion if needed
Cone of cold
Frost Nova
Run a few steps
Blizzard
Blizzard
Cone of cold
-- if needed
Frost nova
Run, blizzard, blizzard
-- if more needed; repeat

me seen before...nice movie. and AoE farming/grinding is as common as hunter kiting. when im bored i do kite the demons in darkwhisper to everlook. so the guards kill em for me:P i got a epic drop there too. krol blade i think it was. anyways if you do not AoE as mage its like going melee with hunter or something (ima friggin tired right now srry if i say it wrong or w/e)
