How much WoW support team sucks...

So I was curious about if Wotlk would run on my mac, so I sent them a support thing, and about weeks later, this is what I got.

    Hello Sam,

Thank you for your e-mail and your interest in World of Warcraft.

    Sorry for the delayed reply.

Concerning your question about System Requirements.

The minimum system requirements for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King are:

Mac OS X 10.4.11 or newer:

    - PowerPC G5 1.6 GHz or Intel Core Duo processor
    - 1 GB RAM
    - 3D graphics processor with Hardware Transform and Lighting with 64 MB VRAM such as an ATI Radeon 9600 or NVIDIA GeForce Ti 4600 class card or better
    - 15 GB free hard drive space
    - A keyboard and mouse are required. Input devices other than a mouse and keyboard are not supported.
    - You must have an active broadband Internet connection to play.

    * Please note that due to potential programming changes, the Minimum System Requirements for this game may change over time.

The recommend system requirements for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King are:
Mac OS X 10.4.11 or newer:

    - Intel 1.8GHz processor or better
    - 2 GB RAM
    - 3D graphics processor with Vertex and Pixel Shader capability with 128 MB VRAM such as an ATI Radeon X1600 or NVIDIA 7600 class card or better
    - Multi-button mouse with scroll wheel recommended.

A list of supported video devices can be found here:
    Blizzard Support

We also have a Wrath of the Lich King FAQ with further game information here:

If you have any further questions or problems don’t hesitate to contact us again.

    Best regards,

They answered your question. What's the problem?

If you actually want an answer from people who have a Mac G4, try the Technical Support forum.

I am just saying, obviously I could find the system requirements just by googling it, it would take less time to google it, than it took to make the ticket. Also when I made this, I did check the Technical Support forum on US AND EU and I didn't find the answer.

And my question was if a G4 will run, so I mean he didn't really answer it.

I did google it, also I didn't find an answer. I finally found an answer a couple days ago though on EU forums. I am just a little mad at the 4 week wait time.

Really? I find that very hard to believe. I Googled "wrath of the lich king requirements," and the very first link was a FAQ for WotLK. Included in the FAQ was a list of system requirements. Included in it was:

Yes yes yes I understand the system requirements. That was not my question though. Basically with macs there are 2 main kinds. There is a G4, and a G5. None of the G4s have intel, and all of the new G5s have intel. My G4 is running at 1.25GHz. I realize that the min system requirements for Wotlk aren't suitable for my computer, but my computer runs TBC fine. I want to know if my G4 will run Wotlk fine.

Well, if it's using an older processor, and it's clocked at 1.25 GHz while the minimum requirement is 1.6 GHz, it's obvious that it does not meet the minimum requirements, wouldn't you think?

Yes that is what I was thinking. But then again, Wotlk is an expansion, it is not the game so I just did not understand why I could run the normal game +TBC perfectly, but somehow this new expansion just wouldn't work. And that is why I put in my ticket, I wanted to see if it would still work. Also they upped the PC requirements too a lot if I am not mistaken.

P.S. It will run on my computer, Blizzard won't support it, but it will run.

    Fair enough, fair enough.

Honestly though, Intel's newest 2.66 GHz quad-cores are only $250. You can get dual cores for very cheap, too.

I'd recommend you buy a new computer...and definitely a PC, not a shitty Mac. Macs are fine for Photoshop and music making and such, but if you want to play games, then don't bother with one.

Verye, I have been a mac user my entire life, I got my first mac when I was about 5 or 6. I love macs, use them all the time, and because of that I know them like the back of my hand. Also I don't have 250 dollars for a new computer when my current computer works fine. I would love a PC, just to have one that I could program on, but I can't so I am very content with what I have now.
