Why can all races be Death Knights?

Simple question.

As far as I know, all races exept:

Undead.
Orc.
Bloodelf.
Human.
Dwarf.

Were able to be turned into Death Knights, by the Lich King.
(note: every race could be Death Knight, but only the members of the above races were turned into Death Knights afaik)

How can Taurens and Draenei have anything lore-related to the deathknight?
Or even worse:
Gnomes.

Only reason (that I can imagine) why Blizz would allow all races to be death knight (atleast durning beta), was to allow more feedback, to get rid of the bugs.
Lore-wise..No, can't possibly be

I have seen so much of these! It's getting annoying. The Lich King can change anyone into a Deathknight. Just because they are a certain race does not mean that the Lich king can't take them over. It's like saying Chinese people can't be converted to islam.

Everybody race can be a Death Knight since everyone should be able to play their favorite race I think thats common sence.

The reason why I looked pass the "Anybody can be death knight" was because I havent played Warcraft and (untill now) I didnt think Lich King would turn everyone into Death Knights

That article is, I'm afraid, full of a lot of shit. Death Knights must be Paladins. See, the plague of undeath normally turns whatever it hits to undead. With a Paladin, the holy light prevents it becoming undead, so they become a DK instead. l2Lore
