2H to legendary, how to ?

New try after deleting my old one...

So... I've seen a 83 ret with a ilvl 316 2H sword mogged to thunderfury, on live server.

So my question, any ideas how this work ?

Gonna guess it is packet editing at the transmog vendor, may be wrong through. Could just be a simple exploit. Check the paladins feat of strengths and see if he actually has thunderfury, if he doesn't this could open a very big window for exploiting the transmog vendor. E.g. transmogging to an ashbringer even though you don't own it.
