Wasn't sure whether this was the right place to post, as the shots are taken from a private server but on another note, it's heavily weighted towards exploration, so there's a little from column A, and a little from column B.
Nevertheless, I know there are other screenshot threads about, but I feel I've tried to make my pictures as unique as I can and felt some of them were simply too awesome not to be shared with you all!
*EDIT* PLease see below the pics where I've included a guide to setting yourself up on Crogges server! You too can go exploring in Northrend!
Anyways, I hope you enjoy the pics!
Step by step guide to installing WotLK Friends & Family alpha for testing on a private server (please note you do not need to back up your existing WoW installation as it does not overwrite any of it):
1. Download the WotLK F&F Alpha enGB client using torrents. A direct link to the torrent itself can be found here. If you are unfamiliar with torrents, you need a client to download the torrent file listed above, and in which case if you have no such client on your machine I recomment using µTorrent, which can be found by clicking here. It's 2.66gb, so you might wanna go grab yourself a coffee / beer / smoke whilst waiting
2. Wait for download to complete, and as soon as it is, you'll need to start the installation process, which is as simple as double clicking the Installer.exe file and leaving it do it's thing.
3. Once the installation is complete, you'll need to apply a patch using the Blizzard updator for the alpha, which can be found here. Once you've downloaded the file from the fileshack link, it's a case of running the file and leaving it update in the exact same fashion as patch day on the live servers. Easy so far, eh?
4. Once step 3 is completed, you're almost good to go! What you need to then do is open the program files directory ("C:\Program Files\Wrath of the Lich King Friends and Family Alpha" by default), and you will see a file called "realmlist.wtf". Open the file up using Notepad, and edit the file to show this instead:
set realmlist masterroot.de:1410
set patchlist masterroot.de:1410
Now click save and close the file. Almost done!
5. Now you need to click here to register an account for the server. For security reasons, I recommend you pick something other than your WoW live server account's user and pass. Not that I don't trust the good folks at Crogges specifically, I just don't trust anyone on the internet. Goes back to what my parents tought me about strangers and all that
6. You're done! Go log in and have fun! Some commands you can use to get you started:
.commands - Shows all commands available to you.
.northrend - Teleport you to Northrend
.givespeed 1~10 - Give you Speed between 1 & 10 modifiers.
.givemount - Give you a Mount
.gps - Show your current coordinates
.save - Save your Char
.start - Teleport you to your Startpositon
.goname <insert player name here> - Teleport you to a player
.info - Show you more informations about the Server
.stormwind - Teleport you to SW
.orgrimmar - Teleport you to OG
.demorphme - Demorph yourself
*ANOTHER EDIT* Have just had my post deleted from the Emulation servers, being noted as "advertisement". Just to stress a point here, I'm in no way affiliated with the server's management, hell 24 hours ago I didn't even know they existed. I'm not trying to push a private server, I'm just allowing people the option of exploration.
