USB Headset=no sound

my computer hasnt been playing sound out of my speakers out of the head phones i plugged into the back of my computers and even my monitor but i remember before that i had a nice usb headset that worked fine though i dont have it any more but now i have a new usb headset and no sound i really need someone good with sound

easy i get no sound to my usb headphone can you troubleshoot?

now im getting sound but its very faint at max volume

Open "start" go for "Controlpanel" then "sound and sound-something"
and Voilà

thanks all for the help but i realized this-im a dumbass cuz i looked on the usb headset cord and there is a volume changing scroller on it that controls the max sound you can get out of it =( but wow i bet everyone is ROFL from this cuz guess what i spent 3 hours with a virus scan and searching the internet to fix this problem before i noticed the volume scroller on the cord
