In-game stat modification?

I was running around doing my typical quests and someone sent me a group invite (I neglected to turn my auto decline back on), I went ahead and accepted the invite because I wanted to ask the guy what his problem was and why is he sending out invites with out sending a tell first. Well all of a sudden all these messages/advertisement started scroll across my screen, basically getting at check out wow-advantage website and the new Stat changer program they've got which they even have a 30 day free trial supposedly; has anyone else ran into this, I have a feeling this is another one of those websites that just want to take your hard earned cash. please give me your input.

There is no way possible for you to edit the stats of your character.

Stat changers don't exist.

That's what I figured, Seemed like complete bs, I remember the last one which seemed pretty obvious the guy was on a private server. It just upsets me alittle that everyone is always trying to rip you out of your cash.
