Rooftops of Stormwind

The other day i was playing around on top of Cath on my lvl 1 female human SW exploit alt(yes, i have a specific alt just for SW, lol) i found a way to get onto the rooftops of SW! Here is a guide i threw together in about 20min on how to do it. This does not require hardly any wall jumping experience, and only skill in camera angles for when actually on the roofs(i'll explain that later). ok here goes.

First off unless you are a Nelf or really good at wall corner jumping, create a lvl 1 female human alt and run it into Stormwind. Run on over to Cath. I will show the way i get on top of cath, but if you cannot do it on your char try on of these listed here: http://video.google.ca/videosearch?q...p+of+cathedral

Anyways, come over to this spot:

and then come over to this corner here:

Now, do a corner jump. If you have never done this b4 do not worry. It is REALLY easy here. Face the corner with the middle of your char's head in line with the corner lik ein the above pic. Now just hit jump then forward much like a wall jump but backwards. If all goes well you should stick in another couple feet above where you started. Now re-aim your head so it is in the middle again and do the jump again. Keep re-aiming and jumping until you make it all the way to the top.

Once there go to this spot and jump across onto the roof of Cathedral like the crappy paint job shows:

I find this next part mostly up to luck. You can either do a corner jump where the arrow shows in the corner, or a walljump up along the side like the pic below:

Warning! once on the platform here there is an area you can get stuck in, and auto-unstuck does not help! Here is a pic of the area:

Always travel around the very edges when going up in this area(where you will have to go to get to the rooftops).

Now, go up along the left side of the no go zone in the above pic and come and stand on this spot:

Now face along the wall like the pic below shows and do a walljump up towards the first point. Hopefully you stick. This takes a few tries, but can be done even by a noob wall-jumper. Here's the pic :

The points that you stick are not necessarily going to be exactly the same as on the pic. Dont worry, you can still make the jumps up to the edge easily. Just change your aim towards the last dot i put on the above pic.

On the last dot you should have a view of parts of inside the cath, but also a roof to the left like the below pic. That is the goal.

Ok, you are doing good so far if you've made it to this pics point. Now do a jump across like the pic shows and onto the rooftops of Stormwind! Congrats! Now Dance!


Once on top of these roofs Camera angle is key. Try and keep a texture(such as the roof) between your camera and the broken looking textures behind them. It takes some skill with the camera angles to get everything right and go a ways along the rooftops.

I will now leave you to explore the rooftops of SW, and if you find anything neat, dont forget to post a SS =)

Note for those with mounts: As you see in the 5th pic, there is a wall just like this on the opposite side of the no go zone. This wall is a bit harder to wall jump onot, but still not too hard. Once you get to the top point tho, the roofs are too far to just do a regular jump. Mount up, or even a speed pot might work, and jump it. I have heard the roofs over there are a bit easier to scale as well. Post pics if you have success

Yeah me too, but i accidentally found that the edges around the middle are ok when i was dueling a friend up there and i got feared =)

Lol patch 2.0.8 messed up WoW so incoming data "bottles" (as blue put it) so I can't get on and try it without constant DCs but who cares, +rep! :P

Oo, hope that gets sorted out. This a fun little exploit seeing how far you can get b4 you fall. I spent like 2 hrs after i made this guide trying to figure out ways around messed up textures to see how far you can get around the roofs b4 falling off =)
