Tales of exploration
I've had hard times progressing on my project, to the point that I was quite sure I would never finish it. But then wow classic slowly regrew the fire of my passion.
So as I might as well share some small bits of it, to not throw everything away. And it could actually help me slowly creep towards completing it one day...
I'll call this "Tales of exploration", and I'll share some stuff from time to time, about cool explorations from vanilla.
Vanilla explorations :
[Kalimdor]
- GM Island & GM Prison ([Legit] Tales of exploration)
- Teldrassil ([Legit] Tales of exploration (Tales of exploration))
- Floating Island ([Legit] Tales of exploration)
- Dancing troll village ([Legit] Tales of exploration)
- Moonglade alpha ([Legit] Tales of exploration)
- Darkshore alpha (http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/worl...ml#post3802642)
- Jaguero Isle (wor...ml#post3805888)
- ...
[Eastern Kingdoms]
- Bengal Tiger Cave (http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/worl...ml#post3803442)
- ...
For the moment, I'll go through vanilla content.
Feel free to tell me if I'm mistaken, or typo...
Thank you.

I love cool exploraitons from Vanilla or early WoW. And I love projects from Nyarly. +9 rep and full support!
You mentioned items, objects and abilities that were used to get to the Island, and you went pretty far back... one of the first methods I remember to get there involved Noggenfogger Elixir (slowfall) from Teldrassil, but you needed a speed boost... I think it was called Thundershock? Some Shaman or Totem ability or something back then that would increase your speed. You had to drink the elixir and then get blown off the tree in the right direction. I'm sure someone with a better memory can fill in the specific details. But definitely worth a mention. Good times.

AFAIK nobody actually jumped the whole way from Teldrassil in one flight. You required a bit more to get there. However, you could jump and your dead body (after hitting the death floor) would continue floating towards the island. But you would just pass through the water below. Even experiencing that was amazing for me, you would see it come up in the vast vast distance minutes before you reach it. And then the zone changes to "GM Island" and you are there But.. dead and no way to revive on the island...Took us a while to figure out how to get there alive.
With fast TBC rocket boots and constant slow fall the flight took about 8 minutes from Teldrassil. The death zone kicked in after 5 minutes ;-) The distance was really massive!

Ah yes ! It's thunderstorm, you entered a duel with a shaman, and he would push you off teldrassil, with a great speed boost
There's this thread which speaks about it : GM Island 3.2.2 Live no hacks / vid : How to GM Island 3.2.2 live server no hacks - YouTube
But he also used the flying in unknown zone trick in this video, I don't know why...
Nice one, I forgot about this method ^^

Thank you a lot !
Because of this I decided to complete the page about the dancing troll village. And while I was double-checking a fact, I came upon what is to my knowledge a totally new discovery. I got really excited after finding this, I was so eager to share it with you ! See below !
Then you can tell me if this reminds you your screenshots
And please all, don't hesitate to give me any negative feedback you may have, here or by PM. I really need to hear your remarks to improve.
I really never heard about the cave, the skeleton, and the underground path to the sea before. Did you know?
