[WoW Machinima] Exploring the Unreachable
Hey there fellow explorers!
Over the many years of playing World of Warcraft I have used a tool called WoW Machinima tool to tweak the game and make it look pretty. There has always been a feature that allows you to take free reign of your camera and fly around, but not in person; "spectator mode." It has never dawned on me that this could be a helpful tool to unearth unreachable areas of the game for spark of future exploration. It is very reminiscent of using Far Sight to find these hidden areas, only this is much easier and faster!
Now with WoD being released, a whole new continent is available for exploration, and possibly hundreds of treasures that are out of our reach or not to our knowledge. With this tool we will be able to discover these areas and find ways to explore them in person.
I will start off by showing you how to download this tool, and how to use it. It is not a difficult tool, and we will only be using one part of the tool. The other parts of the tool are to make WoW look pretty or interesting, such as change the textures blue in Orgrimmar, etc.

Here is an example of this tool in motion. I chose Grimrail Depot to show first because its short, and there isn't much out there. However, I thought the mechanics were interesting and more than likely not reachable.

I only added non-flight areas to the outside world. If you do find something in the other zones that is interesting and unreachable please post and I'll add it to the thread. Also, please rep those that have credits given, they deserve it as well!
Some Tips!!
You can use the "Light" tab to remove fog of war effects that happen in many instances. An example of an instance that this happens in (or used to happen) is Old Hillsbrad Foothills. When you head towards the out-of-bounds areas, a fog washes over you and it is near impossible to see anything with it lingering around. With this tool you can remove the fog of war making it easier to see what you're doing!
Examples:
I hope you enjoy using this newfound tool. I will contribute more instances to this thread when I find time to do them. I encourage you to post your feedback and videos of the explorations you find. I will add them to the main post.
Never stop exploring!

can i get banned for this?

There is a lot of controversy over the program's legality. You can Google about it, or read this thread on the WoW forums here. In my opinion, exploration in itself is bannable, but its whether or not Blizzard wants to enforce it. More than likely, you will not get banned for using this, but I cannot promise that you will not. By the looks of it, Machinima tools are OK with Blizzard, seeing as they actually promote these things at Blizzcon, etc.
Hope this helps clear up some stuff.

Awesome! Now, our exploration videos can gain some "production value" and look better :-D
Don't just say thanks, click thanks!

This works really well. It seems a lot better than the old wow machinema tool, which always seemed to crash the client randomly. I'm going through the introductory quests on a lvl 90 toon, so I'm using this to check out the scenery that is otherwise hidden from the player. It's pretty neat. Thanks, Teryaki for sharing!

Thanks everyone! Now that you mention it, seeing draenor outside of Tanaan jungle would be pretty good. I will be posting a video of Tanaan Jungle from draenor later this evening.

Added some categories of possible exploration, and some videos in the post. Also, added a new feature I found out you can do with the tool: Remove the fog of war from instances!!

It kinda reminds me of the sunken gnome city off the coast of Tanaris back before Cataclysm, only this one is under the world!
Keep em coming! Thank you

Great find, badbrain! We call that area the "Tol Barad Alpha". Satori showed it here:
http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/worl...rad-alpha.html (Tol Barad Alpha)
In that thread is a link to another thread from Jaburius of KotS which has more relevant information. An absolutely wicked area!

No worries mate, I am interested in where this thread will go.
I really enjoyed that Grimrail Depot vid. Seeing the inner-workings of that instance was phenomenal and educational.
