Seeking Explorers and their footage!

Hello my fellow explorers,
Today I have a favor to ask of you all. Without giving away too much for the premise of my video, I have been practicing my editing skills over the past year of hiatus and would like to make a video that not only has MY footage, but footage of countless other explorers doing what we do - exploring. I do not want to elaborate more than needed for the favor, but in essence this video is meant to be a compilation of explorers exploring their favorite area/site/challenge. I am looking for a vast array of explorations, large or small.

Let me explain a little more, here is my rough outline, or framework for the video's composition:

1st part: Seeing or spotting an interesting site or place that you want to explore
The footage clips I would like for this section should be more of a visual from your character, or riding in the general vicinity; the tricks of our trade have not yet been deployed so to speak

2nd part: Beginning the exploration, finding a path or making a plan
Now this part is where you start your character's journey, and "commit to the climb". Basically this part is the generally easy part of your journey, maybe a little wall walking and jumping, a simple dmt or two, or speed gliding etc. etc.

3rd part: Dangerous and risky maneuvers/jumps ect. to get to the exploration objective
For this footage I am looking for the part in your adventure where your character comes across a very difficult obstacle, which can be very different things depending on the type of exploration. I would like some footage of your character starting in on this obstacle, and completing any difficulties you come across.

4th part: Finally reaching the spot, and giving a nice view from it (eg. from the top of a mountain/pillar/ looking around)
For this, a simple reel of your character making that "last jump", approaching the goal and giving us a nice view of it (depending on where you are this will mean different things -if you're on a mountain you best give a good view of the region

Now each part would display the footage of many different explorers, as such the video follows the exploration of many different areas, providing different styles and examples of why we love our profession.

Here is an EXTREMELY simplistic example of what I mean for each part (part 5 is part 4, typo ) :


Bear in mind that this is a very simple example, I want all kinds of different styles and flavors, just do your thing!

I would assume no... that you would be adding your own music to make this all work... but I could be wrong.

Yes I have music selected already, and oh boy a year! Mine will be a tad different in purpose perhaps, and not as well edited




I guess I should say don't expect some amazing piece of art, I just had a little project I've been wanting to do for the community lately.

Great idea, but would like a few clarifications.

1) Do you mind if I have the "www.bandicam.com" thing at the top of my screen?

2) Do you prefer with or without UI?

3) Is there a limit on how long it can be? Mine could stand to have two or three "Part 3"s

4) Would you like me to edit mine to be muted? Feeling a bit lazy :P

5) If multiple people do the same place, will you take both, or will the second person be asked to supply a different locale?

6) I assume you'd prefer no captions in the footage we send you?

7) Mine won't have this, but how do you feel about things like flyhacks or other such things?

8) I'm running on a laptop. I can extend my view distance and details at the cost of frames. Is there a minimum visual fidelity you require?

Gotta agree with Trokair, this is a pretty nice idea for a project - will be interesting to see what kind of footage you get!

Quick question though, for the footage, are you looking for every 'part' for one exploration? Or can we, for example, submit just a part 3 and 4 for an exploration?

Just wondering, because in general my explorations are pretty straightforward, with the point of interest being the entire goal of the video (ie. I don't discover it during it).

I'll have a dig around for any old footage, but I don't really have much of it any more as I lost a lot when my laptop broke down.

Edit: I suppose I could download some from youtube if there's a good enough tool for it and just remove the music. I'll PM you if I find anything that looks suitable.
