Very short preview of what is to come soon, a new map that I think I am the first one outside Blizzard to ever set foot on.

    Two more :

Very impressive. Always love seeing Dev stuff!

If you don't mind me asking, what makes the map so 'exclusive'? Is it not shipped with normal clients?

Really great share. Thank you. Curious, how did you get the map name?

It's shipped in the normal client, which is quite surprising, because Blizzard doesn't really do that anymore. They used to do it up until Cata (it was quite common to see dev maps, like the pre-LK development, ExteriorTest, development_nonweighted, etc..), but the 4.0 PTR fiasco (when the "full" development map was accidently put in the client) probably led them to not put such maps in the client. There wasn't any map of that kind in the MoP client, even during the beta.

MoD told me the map existed (basically I wouldn't have done it without him, so he is the one that should be thanked), then after that I just needed to extract the files.

Found this strange cave in the middle of nowhere (or perhaps more accurately, 'edge' of nowhere) around the back cliffs of the Highmaul area in Nagrand. Definitely not meant to get there by ordinary means as it required a good deal of climbing just to reach the back of Highmaul, and you have to drop down cliffs to get to it.

Highmaul in general looks like it'll be good fun to explore if this no-flying business sticks.

Oh by the way, important point for anyone exploring around Highmaul - be careful of entering any area with 101 elite mobs. The mobs won't kill you (as they're unattackable) but these areas seem to instantly port you outside to the starting area of Highmaul.

To my knowledge we will be able to fly once we hit 100... so likely this is a cave that will house something for the max-level quests of WoD.
Great find and wicked climbing, ST!

    Cheers man!

It could well be, but personally I doubt it as Blizz have stated that flying isn't going to be available until patch 6.1 (and they're still undecided on whether they're going to include it even then), and the cave is remarkably obscure in its location as to be unlikely for use as a quest location. It could have just been leftover from the raid however, as the whole surrounding area seems to just be an uninstanced version of the raid.

Who knows? That's the beauty of these little things - we can speculate on them forever and fashion our own individual stories for their existence
