Someone posted practically the same thing a long while back. I think it was Dellion, but I can't find it.
In their video they blinked into the column to the left though. I was never personally successful recreating it, and it always bothered the hell out of me.
I look forward to trying this method, facing the stairs and going straight on. If it works for me, it will be very much appreciated.

Ice Barrier was just a reflex. A blink is all that is needed

Finally went back and tried this today.
Again I failed blinking into Dellion's column to the left... but zaeBOOST's method facing the stairs worked every time.
This now becomes the easiest method of escape for me, and will be my go-to method for Jade Serpent from now on!

Tried this not too long ago, i can't for the life of me do it again however xD

Strange, this has been my way ever since he posted it, works first time every time for me. Make sure you're facing the stairs dead-on and standing on the floor like he is and not in the water. I love this method, as I can skip all the mobs and reach the stairs easily with invisibility. Good luck!

Got it after a few tries way back when. I think I found that here as well. I actually forgot it existed.. How refreshing.
