[Exploration] Falling Flame - Ghostlands and Silvermoon City

I've been a leech for a while, without much of anything to post. But here goes contributing!

It was a couple days before 5.4.7 that I happened to be in Silvermoon City, and noticed that my Falling Flame wasn't greyed out like it used to be. So I clicked it--And go figure, it was working in this no fly zone. And even after 5.4.7, I've discovered that it's still working in Ghostlands and Silvermoon City.

The item (For those who don't know) is: Falling Flame - Item - World of Warcraft

I made a short video of me trying this right before Thalassian Pass in Ghostlands, today. It worked just fine, and with my Goblin Glider I discovered there's no real land past the pass, though I could get to some rather steep terrain in the distance. I was also met with a 'Transfer Aborted - Instance not found' while out here, but no instant disconnects. Perhaps some more skilled explorers will find something neat out there, as I didn't spend too long looking.

I am very glad you posted this! These two areas (behind Ghostlands and Silvermoon City) have been explored pretty well on this forum. The Falling Flame has even been mentioned for exploring the non-flying zones... but not many are using it to make videos.

It is an incredible tool, and I hope to see more people using it to explore hard-to-reach places. Thanks for sharing! +4 rep.

That would be down to the obnoxious drop rate + it being a rare spawn. It's a nightmare to get. I've killed it 31 times and it's still not dropped.

Really annoying as I love my world exploration and it's so useful for it.

Apparently the drop rate is actually 2%, so you should only expect it after 50 kills - I guess you're just incredibly lucky!

It doesn't work in dungeons / raids etc if that's what you mean. It only works in open world.

It's interesting that you get transfer aborted errors. Perhaps there's an instance trigger for content that no longer exists, or is intended as a developers playground. Or maybe you're just hitting the old instance portal for Zul'Aman, when it was a Raid instance, and not the 5-man dungeon it is now. Still, it's quire odd to see that message in places where players don't belong :P

And your point is what, exactly? Are you linking that for views to your own thread, or are you accusing this of being a repost, or what? Because, if you are...it isn't. As this actually shows a video whilst yours is just a written theory.

Without any explanation whatsoever it's impossible to discern why you actually linked your thread, which essentially makes your post pointless.

Absolutely wasn't a theory, but thanks for trying anyway. Yes, I'm saying repost, though I didn't realize it should've been in this subforum instead (as noted in the original topic).
