5.4 Basic Wall Glitching [Almost any wall]

I was told this belongs in the exploration forums (though it's a glitch, which potentially can be used for exploits). So, right forum this time, here we go.

This is already known by some, yes, but far from everyone knows how to get through walls. Wall glitching has now, and has always had good potential. This has been nerfed numerous times by Blizzard, and this is one of few ways that still work. No hate please, enjoy!

    Disconnect macro: /run for v=1,500 do for i = 1,GetNumFactions() do SetWatchedFactionIndex(i) end end

Step one: Find an area with a wall tight to yer' head. You can't mount here.
Step two: Start mounting up, and whilst you're mounting, spam the Disconnect macro ^.
Step three: Log in. You might get a disconnect or two, but keep trying.
Step four: When you're in, you should be mounted. Gently gently press your 'Space' bar to fly up a bit.
Step five: You're now inside the wall that blocked you from mounting! Find your way thru WoW's complex systems of walls to wherever you wanna go.

Been told the video feels kinda' long, but really, how to do the glitching is shown within the 1st minute.

    Thanks

This is a fairly known glitch around here
It has been discovered and used since blizzard tried to fix the mount through wall glitch with a simple dismount.
I can't call this a repost without linking to the original thread but i'm almost positive that thread created at the beginning of cataclysm can be found again.

Nice to know it still works with that macro though.

Yeah, you don't even have to go all the way back to that Cata thread though - it's actually a repost of two of my own recent threads on this exact topic.

    For posterity, here they are:

[5.4 News] Mount/Growth Glitching is NOT Fixed Guys from over a week ago, or so.

[Fixes] 5.4 PTR Fixes and Exploration Changes from a month and a half ago, when it was in PTR.

It's also described in depth (though, minus the DC now required [again]) in Trokair's sticky tutorial thread for exploring: [Project] Exploration Tutorial for WoW.

Just to clarify, wall glitching within the exploration community is not just known by some Jimmyv93 - I'd be willing to say it's known by the vast majority. If you have even a passing interest in exploration, you'll know about wall glitching. It's one of the most accessible, straightforward and widely useable methods we explorers have to the extent that most of the threads posted in the exploration section involve wall glitching to at least some degree.

You have given a very good tutorial (unfortunately the video was a bit overkill - the written description does a perfectly adequate job of explaining it, so there's no need for 5 and a half minutes of talking on top of that) on how to do this, but to be honest, this information is out there already and easy enough to write up, so I can't really commend you too much for it.

My advice? Really think before contributing. See what else other people post in exploration, see what goes down well, and what doesn't. Try out other people's explorations, develop your skills and so on. I waited a good year before I made my first exploration video, because I knew I didn't have anything worthwhile to share until then. When I started getting the hang of things and finding new stuff, then I posted.

I'm sorry if I'm coming across as overly harsh here, but it has to be said at some point.
