Instanced Dalaran Exploration

During this quest, I was teleported to the top of the Violet Citadel in Dalaran.
I noticed that the loading screen is the same as the Violet Hold one. After completing the quest, I tried to jump down, but Jaina teleported me back. So I just died and res at spirit healer. This video was unplanned, so I forgot to turn on Fraps.

I wonder if you are intended to get down there another way? Seems an awful lot of mobs for an area you are not supposed to access. A wicked video, thanks for sharing! +7 rep.

I doubt it. Jaina will teleport you back when you try to jump down.

As there are NPCs down there (and even named ones, my Russian isn't good, but there was one "Magister" guy in the Horde bank i.e.) I could think of something like the Battle for Undercity quest back in Wotlk where you cleave through Dalaran with a +500% dmg buff or something. Or maybe a Horde quest? At least it's safe to say that you aren't meant to get down there at this point

I crashed my client to get the world id number and the coordinates of the purple parlor when ported there -
World ID #: 1106, Coordinates(xyz): 5858, 854, 843

I find it surprising how many mobs exist in this instanced Dalaran. Very strange that there's extra mobs in the underground when none of those areas are shown in the quest cinematic (as far as I know, anyway - maybe horde has a different cinematic?)

AFAIK, it's because later in the questline you return to the instanced dalaran and are supposed to kill these mobs, since they betrayed the kirin tor. At least for alliance, that is.

This is what I was getting at... that a later quest would take you down to that part of Dalaran. There was just way too many mobs for it to truly be an "inaccessible" area.

...not to take away from Dellion's accomplishment in the least. This is still a very clever way to access an area that we are not supposed to have access to at that specific time. Exploration at its finest! Love it.

Just finished the operation: shieldwall grind, and i can confirm that you indeed return to dalaran to purge it from the betrayers of the kirin tor
