    [Emu] 5.0.5 Unused Scenarios

    I was really excited to see a Mists of Pandaria sandbox pop up, because I absolutely love exploring with sandboxes. The link to the sandbox is here if you would like to try it out for yourself. Setup is easy as well. Credits to Fabian and craigy109 for the attention to this awesome exploration tool.

    On to the actual post, while digging though the maps and such to explore places underground and inside instances without disconnection, I found various unused scenarios that caught my attention. I will show you screenshots of about 4 or 5 scenarios that are indeed not used in the retail version of Mists of Pandaria. The process I took was I fired up the ol' DBC Editor and looked inside the Map.DBC file within the server files. There I was able to locate the MapID of all the maps in the game, allowing me to port to them. There are some other awesome ones such as developer land, but I got disconnected upon entry. I also looked in ScholomanceOLD as well as the old Scarlet Monastery instances for anything new and hidden, but didn't see anything different in those instances.

    That's all I found from the unused scenario instances. Here are a few more screenshots of some of the future raids that will be released soon (Temple of Kotmogu, Terrace of Endless Spring) If you do not want to see the outside of these instances without actually exploring them yourself, ignore these photos. Blizzard got really messy in my opinion on these outskirts, and I really like the fact that they look like this I will be finding ways outside this instance as well when it actually gets released.

    Very nice stuff, Teryaki. Thanks for sharing this!

    Especially enjoyed the images outside of the new instances, but really loved it all. Looking forward to finding ways out of them.

    Yeah, I remember having (and I think you still need) a patch to get to Programmer Island and places like that. Visited Emerald Dream as well, didn't see anything new and exciting there. I wonder if it is possible to make a patch to allow the client to load the CTF3 and the DevLand, but I have no idea where to start =/

    @Trokair, thanks for the kind words. The newer instances seem like they will be very easy to get out of, the invisible walls aren't very high around the area you are supposed to be in *hint hint*

    Overall, the unused scenarios looked really interesting, especially the Alcaz Island one. I wonder what made them scrap it. :confused:

    You needed a patch to get to Programmer's Island because it didn't actually exist ingame. All the textures weren't actually present, so an MPQ was built from older builds that contained Programmer's Island...

    I wonder if it is possible to make a patch to allow the client to load the CTF3 and the DevLand, but I have no idea where to start =/
    The files for MoPDevLand are not present on the Retail client, so you need to get them out of an older build(I remember MoP Beta had it somewhere), and build an MPQ with the files... Then you just patch the client to allow model edits and go there on your sandbox server. This was done with the Development(MapID 451) files that were posted in these forums.
    If you want to start, I'd recommend finding some old builds, extracting the MPQ files and checking if the DevLand folder has any files in it. If it does, just extract them and post them in the model edit section and ask for help

    There were no MoPDevLand map files in the beta, sadly.

    (and mapID 169 is EmeraldDream, and Development is 451 ^^)

    @spoutnik There actually was MoPDevLand, the files were in the first batch of public Beta builds to be released, I remember checking them myself, but they were removed later on.
    Yeah, thanks, I got confused by the EmeraldDream and Development MapIDs
