Yeah, I don't think Blizzard traditionally uses the skybox projectors. I don't know, a lot a interesting things that are still unknown at this point with all the new things from the expansion that was introduced. I am still unsure about that golden box. I would like to see if I can find out more, but was unable to find anything on it using google. Maybe someone from the model editing or emulation section could answer this question?

Yeah with boxes like those they usually attach some sort of scripts to them it would be really hard to find out what they were without really tinkering with the game outside of of just having the client open. They sort of remind of the boxes you can find in games like duke nukem forever which play in game movies they might be used for storing scripts for the in game cutscenes I can't say it 100% positive though.

Do you mean how do you get under Pandaria? There are many methods to getting under there actually. Here are some links that will help you I think.

Those yellow boxes look like from the History channel Logo , or national geographic logo from TV or whatever. Or one of those types of channels.
