Well, this escalated quickly !

Although I do agree that the RIdPEF members should tone their responses down when they're here on OwnedCore (we do believe in sharing, so I think they should respect that when they post here)... I don't see why this is getting brought up here in this thread. Spoutnik/Feangren was simply responding to Nyarly's assumption that the OP was a member of the RIdPEF group and sharing some history with us.

I have made some mistakes here (like saying my disapproval of sharing paths) that I won't do again.
The point of my post was, as Trokair said, to clarify some things about crouspaul/yunalol not being a member of our community.

But i dont want any problems with anyone so, I will drop this topic right now.

I do see the amazing things that Model Editing can do, yes. It looks nice, and yes it shows how much lack of talent Blizzard has, but I still don't categorize it as exploration for some reason. I believe exploration is when you get from point A to B without using 3rd party software or modifying the game files. I could imagine this would belongs in the section for model editing, theres a great active community in there so why not post it in the "correct" section in my opinion.

It's basicly like the movie that Zhao recently released/edited for RIdPEF, I think it was mixed with real exploration (real exploration; actually getting to the location using game mechanics) and then theres model editing which is, like the name describes, editing the game models to make it look different, and that kind of "exploration" is really not exploration, it's just manipulating the game files, and showing off your model editing skills, which some of them doesn't even do, forexample this video. I am pretty sure the edits are ripped off some forums.

Also, what does essploration means, it that exploration in french?

I really don't know, what I do know is that if I was a legendary user, I would -rep this thread for existing, I am sorry for being so negative. I just things these kind of things ruins the fun of the journey, kinda like the DFM exploration.

Exploration is exploration in french too, iirc, ridpef calls it essploration because they want to differenciate exploring landscapes and exploring hidden stuff (=essploration).

As for the ME "debate" i quite agree with you, people who do MEs always say "no hacks, no third party software, ..", it always make me smile. They do use third party softwares beforehand to modify the game files, but they always forget to tell it.
About ME videos having their place here, i would say yes as long as it's showing an exploration : someone running on his pony to show us some nice stuff. It's like a gray zone and zhao's movie was indeed better because it showed "normal" explorations too.

Exploration is showing things that have not been shown before. It is true that, on this forum, we prefer explorations done on live forums, or without third party hacks, or model edits... but even those explorations have their place here (if the threads are tagged properly). The model edit forum is for discussing methods for model editing. This video is not that, this is an exploration.

To each their own. No judgement needed. Everyone just relax and enjoy people investigating unknown regions.

About the modeledit, I agree with FuryExploiting, it's not really an exploration because these maps are not in game and you must use third party software for add and patch this files, but the video only show the places.
These map are made by Blizzard, as I say in another thread, it's interesting to see unused contents and test maps, for make hypothesis for future content in game, or the story of map making,
Or just the feast for the eyes.

First thing you show on the vid is "official server Blizzard no "hack""? But you cant log into a clean install and get to any of these places, so why say that? Its not official, its tampered with (or "hacked").
