The meat is used by only 1 recipe and it makes a level 60 stats food so it's not really useful at all. It'd only sell as novelty item and since there's very weak demand, it won't be rare or desirable so the price won't be high. Keep trying.

what achievment would that food be used for besides "eat X different foods"?

This mod was added to the game after the removal of the AQ opening chain in order to facilitate people with the epic recipe with continuing to create Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops, which required Chimaerok tenderloins that dropped from the old "boss" Chimaerok of the chain on the same island. That should clear up any mysteries surrounding this mob.

Nop, i can't find my screenshots of it but i did this quest.
You didn't had to kill one "boss" mob to get the meat, the isle was covered by chimaerok and they where easily soloable by a lvl 80 shaman.
Remember this quest is from vanilla so they must have been lvl ~60.


Edit : i'm so bad i got 7k+ screenshots and only 2 of them are on the isle of dread and after i cleaned every mobs ...

It can be skinned. Requires finkle's skinner or some other +skinning enhancement to be equipped (+skinning to gloves, zulian slicer) for cataclysm level leather. It's a good amount of leather, but it's rather trivial like most of the skinning profession.

No, nothing on the island was. That island was full of elite ones at first if I remember correctly like 58-60, because I remember farming them with a group of 5 for the stam food.

I killed him yesterday around 2:30pm EST, and Today around 1:00pm EST. His respawn rate seems to be short, unless I just got lucky.

Either way if you are trying to farm this guy for Chimaerok Tenderloin, check up on him daily. Good Luck

Saw him on my server last night, while I was down in that area visiting Elders for the Lunar Festival.

Decided to have a go... got him down to 93% before remembering that I'm an explorer and a fisherman... not a fighter!
