    Aquariums of Azeroth

I made a how-to video on reaching various "Aquariums"... the columns of water that now extend far below Azeroth's surface.

*EDIT: All of these "Aquarium" spots can now be used to fly underneath the continents. Simply mount up instead of jumping and fly underneath!

In this first video, I explore aquariums in Tanaris, Felwood, and Dun Morogh (including the IF Airport Aquarium).

    .
In the second video, I explore aquariums in Booty Bay, Stonetalon Mountains, and Stormwind (both the Sea and Crystal Lake). All video was taken on a live server during patch 4.0.3.

(credit to Omo of RAoV for first discovering the Durotar 'aquarium'!)

Why do ppl call them aquariums? Aquarium: a tank or pool or bowl filled with water for keeping live fish and underwater animals.

These are just bodies of water than extend under the surface. It's probably much easier to just throw in a large section of water for blizz, than to cut it out perfectly.

    Still, nice videos.

No sir... water used to be cut out perfectly and end at the ground where it appeared to end. This change happened as of patch 4.0.1... water now extends past the ground and down to infinity... which means we can now "stick" to it. This makes some explorations (like getting to Deadmines Secret via the Elixir of Giant Growth method) a LOT easier to pull off than they used to be.

The "aquarium" phenomenon after 4.0.1 was first discovered and documented by Omo of the RAoV team. As with most discoveries, the first person to find it tends to name it. Omo called the one he found in Durotar the "Durotar Aquarium". The name has stuck ever since.

There are a number of Old Ironforge and Inside Stormwind Gate entry techniques that have used this. It is nothing really new. I've discovered it comes in handy when you fall beyond what is now the kill barrier under the ground.

    Everything you posted is incorrect.

There are not a number of Old Ironforge and inside SW Gate entry techniques that have used this. You may be thinking of the old ways to swim from the lava in the IF Great Forge to the lava in Old IF, for instance... but those two areas of lava were connected below the surface... that was not this "aquarium" phenomenon.

This "aquarium" thing is a new phenomenon as of patch 4.0.1. Prior to that patch, water ended at the ground's surface. (You need proof? Find a video, prior to 4.0.1, that uses the 'giant growth' technique to get to Deadmines Secret. You'll see that before that patch, you had to hit the water perfectly or you would fall to your death. Nowadays you can land below the water and still 'catch' it.)

The kill barrier below the ground, on the other hand, has always been there... so not sure why you say "what is now the kill barrier". This new technique (again, first recorded by Omo in Durotar) Will keep you alive above the old kill barrier... but if you swim below this barrier you will still fall to your death.

My videos just show a few more places besides Durotar that you can accomplish this. I hope this clarifies.

Very nice, Jimmy! Where is your entry point for this one?
