As BaddyMcBad pointed out this was discovered back at level 60 with mages using blink.

Yeah I've seen it before still neat though.

Also if you have access to it, FRAPS does a much better recording job of "in game" than Cam Studio, even on the 720p display size its very jittery and hard to watch a Cam Studio recording from in game.

Very old yes... but you can still get there currently on live servers.

To literally answer your question, it's still exploration. To be snide about it, it's the same as exploiting map mechanics to jump to places you aren't supposed to be, except it saves you some time.
