    [Discovery?] Invisible Building? Loch Modan/Wetlands

Long time reader, First Time starting a thread. I decided to get back into exploration. Well, during my travels earlier this morning, I found myself in the cliffs of Loch Modan.

I was running along and hit an invisible "wall".

    The same invisible wall that is mentioned here;
    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-ex...och-modan.html

I decided to see how far this invisible wall went. What I found is the wall itself seems to be a perimeter of an object. While running againest the "wall" while going around its perimeter I noticed my character was also at points going onto a higher ground as if there was a ledge on the model. In my experiences when you hit an invisible wall you just run into it and go along it, but your character will never go to a higher piece of ledge.

Below is a screenshot of the location of this "wall"/building.

I will post what path I took to get here later. If I am overthinking it too much post here.

I was thinking possible Cataclysm model, since they are going to be using that area come the expansion but, who knows.

Im waiting on someone to say, wtf is with the screenie there is nothing there.
Still a little more on topic, if we were to get a few people there and wall around the building we could possibly be able to draw an outline of it then compare it to other buildings thus working out what is there, going to go look before i hand out rep though as i cant see anything :P

There are a few of these in the game of World of Warcraft. Personally i've found 2. This one and another.

Well, that is what I thought too, but the fact it had a perimeter was what puzzled me. What are they trying to block off there?

Maybe there might be a structure? Because Blizzard wouldn't make a hollow building unless it was a solid object, and a rough frame at that. Try getting freared through or something. If there's something inside, AWESOME! If not, well, it was worth looking into.

As a person or two mentioned, there are several walls around that prevent you from crossing over into certain places. For example, if you get under Stormwind, go up the cliffs to the north and follow it back around (following the southern border of Dun Morogh) you'll eventually hit a wall that keeps you from crossing into Searing Gorge. Another invisible wall runs along the eastern border of Burning Steppes. I've actually encountered several invisible walls north/northwest of Loch Modan, they don't all go in the same direction.

Blizzard also likes to use invisible walls in the sea sometimes. There are invisible walls if you stray too far off the coast near Exodar (at least I think it was near there, it's been a while), and they actually run in a zig-zag pattern instead of being just a straight wall. It can actually seem somewhat confusing as you'll think you're hitting walls in different directions, but really you're just running up against an invisible zig-zag wall going at an angle. These turn up again (along with some straight-line walls) in the Death Knight beginning quest sequences when you're in the phased versions of Eastern Plaguelands.

Anyway, that's what I've encountered with the invisible walls. They've been there for quite some time (some of them since the original WoW beta, I'm guessing), so I don't think it's a building or a pre-cata thing or anything like that (as cool as that might be).

I don't think he's talking about an invisible wall, but a building. Like, this is an invisible wall that is shaped in a rectangle or square, along with allowing you to somewhat climb on it. I see what you mean, but you might want to trace where exactly you collide with the wall on that pic if you can.

to find out if its a building use a targeting rune (the ones for aoes)

you can use them to highlight the invisible structures

next time you're under SW, use the targeting rune thingy to highlight the building under the giant hole.

yeah ive experimented at these walls on mah private server, unless the building is a million feet tall and a hundred miles long i think its just an invisible wall.
