    Fall Damage Immunity

I'm not quite sure HOW this happened, but first thing I realized was that I could use it to finally be a contributor to MMOwned.

I was playing my Human Warlock (Level 13), my friend was playing his Dwarf Priest (Level 12).

We were running around in the Stormwind Harbor, we had just been running through some houses looking for one for my character (play on a RP realm).

I jumped off a cliff onto the trebuchet, took about 10% fall damage (which was normal), and my friend took none. We didn't really notice, and later jumped off a clif where I took 60%, and my friend took none.

That time we DID notice, and started filming this EXTREMELY poor video.

Note: This is on a Live Server, filmed 11/6/08 (November 6th 200 at about
    8:30 PM (Central)

No buffs of any kind that could reduce fall damage were used. I filmed three of about fifteen trials that we took, my friend took fall damage in none.

He was NOT immune to (as shown in the video) mobs or drowning.

Please ask questions if you have them

First off, you said same thing twice. Secondly, you used the html imbed url. With the default posting method, BBCode, you just give the youtube link and it should show up as a video.

And the no fall damage was because they used fade..............

Fade was not used. No moves of any kind were moved, other than movement to run off the edge. Please, don't assume. However, if you somehow are correct, then that would mean that the priest, who I've known for three years, was lying to me.

Also, I'm deeply sorry to have to make a contradiction to such an esteemed poster as yourself, but Fade is an aggro dump, and I have no clue how you would have gotten the impression that it would somehow negate damage.

    Fade from Wowwiki.com

Fade is a temporary aggro reduction that can be used in parties. Its basic function is to reduce Priest-generated threat by a certain amount for the duration of the spell, usually taking the Priest off the top of the threat list. This allows a priest to use Fade to get enemies off of them while they heal their party members. The key is to not use Fade too soon, otherwise it will be cooling down when it's needed, and to not use it too late, or else it won't matter. It is a common misconception that using Fade regularly will help lower a priests overall threat for the duration of an encounter.

Edit: Forgot to thank you for the video advice and spotting that I posted twice. I'm pretty new to mmowned, so I appreciate how you gave critisism rather than flames.

Well that's the entire point of this thread that I created, I wouldn't make it just to show off. I was hoping that some other people could offer ideas on how it could be duplicated, or discuss what caused this.

That DOES work, but my friend is a level 12 dwarf priests, and dwarfs can't be mages, you get blink well after level 12 (I think) and all that happened was he was immune to fall damage.

So I'm guessing this has to take place in a capital, but what could actually change how your character takes damage client side?

This actually happened to me to, I don't know if I did anything unusual by then I just remember questing in Zangarmarsh and not taking any falling damage all out of a sudden. Might've started earlier though since I don't make a habit out of jumping from cliffs
But there should be a pattern to how to duplicate this I guess, just need more reports of it happening. So please send em in

Other than that, if someone can figure out how to reproduce it, would be epic.
