Working as intended. Blizzard made it like this so if you were on the boat and got ganked you would not have to run to your corpse that stayed on the boat. Not an exploit. Also known for a very long time.

Player A dies on a floating platform that is about to zone somewhere else.
Blizzard goes OMG! He wont be able to reach his body if we dont do anything!
Blizzard goes INORITE!? WE HAS TO MAKE HIM RES AS THE FLOATING PLATFORM ZONES! LULZ!
Player A zone out.
Player A res.

On a more serious note, did you seriously want to res, go back to the dock and wait for your body to zone back in? o.o
