I've tested on EU Server ( Conseil des Ombres ), just me get disconnect

This only works if the server the player is on havnt seen the warglaive drop yet. So If my realm have seen it drop, this post fails on dc'ing me. This will happen with any item that the specific server havnt seen drop yet, cause its not in the server load yet.

In fact theres many servers in each battlegroup so when u do this u might dc the ones clicking on the link from only 1 of the servers and not the rest.

This worked best when only 2 guilds did full Black Temple runs so you would know what server it would work on :P

Don't think it's ban-able as u can link items from atlasloot enhanced which will dc some servers, without the intention on doing it.

This is quite an interesting thing that was discovered.

I doubt anything would occur, but just to see what happens...someone should do this and whisper it to a GM after submitting a ticket on something. Nothing would probably happen, but in case it does, it could actually be helpful knowledge.

some really good items to try this with are from viscidus in AQ40 (ruins of ahn'qiraj). not many guilds killed him even on really well progressed servers back when.

Fixed problem where players could be disconnected by clicking on an item link in cross-server battlegrounds.

WoW -> Patch Notes -> 2.2.0


Blizz fixed it so if you click a link that your server hadn't seen you wont get D/C'd because people were using it to d/c their opponents in arenas. I have no idea what its working for you, I mean I can even make up items and none of them D/C me. Maybe its a EU thing since you all seem to have people d/c when you link it. Other then that I really have no idea why that would do anything.
