    Teron Gorefiend ghost exploit

    Heyho,
    some of you might know the fight against Teron Gorefiend. He randomly casts a debuff that makes you a ghost. If you are the ghost, you have to kill four skeletons with the abilities of your ghost. One of the abilities is "spirit lance", a single target shot that adds a slowing debuff on the target which is stackable.
    Now, if you use a macro to cast the spirit lances, the debuff will be automatically stacked as high as possible (in one shot), but it only does normal damage. Use this makro:

    Code:

    /cast Spirit Lance
    /cast Spirit Lance
    /cast Spirit Lance
    /cast Spirit Lance

    So what is the point of this stacking up and still using the normal damage? Is it basically just shooting more times with the macro?

    The idea is to stop the constructs(ghosts) from reaching the raid. Basically you can shackle, AOE, spirit lance them. Spirit lance will slow them. Thus, giving you more time to kill them. However, to slow them more you need to fire more spirit lances. For example, 5 spirit lances slows by 80% or such. This is where this macro comes in. Hitting the macro once slows them as if they have 5 spirit lances slowing them - not one.:wave:

    seems like you don't know the fight. i'll explain.
    You ghost ist invulnerable to the attacks of the skeletons, but the rest of the raid is not. So if you're the ghost it's your objective to kill the skeletons before they reach the raid, because they deal a huge amount of damage and can't be attacked by normal players. If they are fully slowed with only one spirit lance, you save the time that you would normally need to stack up the debuff and can use the time to deal damage on them, so it makes the whole thing a lot easier.

    Incorrect. That's not how the spell works.

    Blizzard changed the way Spirit Lance works a long time ago. One lance will continue to stack the slow debuff by itself. Your macro does nothing. Try it with one lance cast and you will get the same result (just watch the debuffs stack by themselves 1->2->3...)

    Could you go into detail? Last month, there was a difference for my between casting a single one and using the macro. I don't believe that they changed it since then.
    And do you just believe that it doesn't work or did you test it? I think that you didn't even test it, because it got confirmation by other people (look comments above you).
