Unless this exploit works as explained, you absolutely cannot invis to avoid death from raid bosses. What you will do is lower yourself on the threat list (making you the last kill, not letting you survive). If you time your invis to the point that the last other player is dead while you're invisible, the boss will pop you out of invis as it kills you. This may not have been the case in previous patches, but as a mage who spends about 100g a night in repairs 3 days a week because his guild is wiping on literally raid boss (long story), I can assure you that I've tried enough timing variations on invis to get the hint. It also has a tendency to bug out mobs or bosses in Zul'Aman.

I will definitely try this exploit before the next wipe, I'll report back!
