sorry, dont have access to the mage account, was only a friend in class that i was showing how to do... is deadly throw a further throwing range than regular throw? if so just put combo pts on and run up deadly throw

I found a good way to get aggro as a gnome engineer (or a globlin engineer that does not want to built the rocket),
Use a grenade! I tested it with an adamantite grenade. A frost grenade wont reach. I dont know about lower lvl grenades. I cant think of anything like a grenade that everyone can use, anyone know of something?

I simply cannot reach the mobs to make a spell...

If i stand on the place where i should pull the mobs i am out of range...

I just found that the Druid spell that calms down animals is the only spell with a range of 40 metres.
But i need keys for the chest o.0




EDIT#2: Okay,after about an hour of trying with my Druid i came to the result that this method is very unprofitable.
To make 2 Arkanit skeleton keys with my Main i need about 18 gold.
And im even not sure if this key is good enough to open a chest in UB Heroic.


If u have some tips or something else to help me,i would be very pleased.

keep doing it till a chest that isn't locked spawns

everytime the zone "empties" and you zone back in it moves the chests

part of blizzards "hotfix" to chest farming. when they also stopped the chest spawns in alcatraz

As a druid, it says I cant loot because I'm in combat, the topic poster said something about how to avoid it but I cant understand his english. Help?

If you're not specced into Ruthlessness or an Engineer this is a waste of time for a Rogue. Not worth it as any other class either due to the high probability of chests being locked.

okay... blizz has done this..

moved ledge so you need a 40yard range attack to hit or touch any of the mobs.

also

20 runs... all greens... not a single piece of gear worth it, cost me 50gp in repairs testing out different ways to do it.

there is a easy way for a druid / rogue combo, but druid has to die each time

For Druids:
This is the technique I use on my Tauren Druid.

Step 1. Get Nature's Reach its in the balance tree. This gives your moonfire spell enough range to hit the mobs easily.

Step 2. After pulling the mobs wait until they make their way all the way up to the top. A few seconds before they make it to you jump down to the chest. I use cat form to take no damage.

Step 3. When you land do a 180. There is a stretch of water only about 5 feet across or so. Cross this water and wait on the land on the other side. After 15 secs or so, you will lose the aggro.

Step 4. As soon as you lose aggro, move with all the speed a cow can muster and loot the chest. You actually have like 20 secs or so to do this so its not really a rush.

ok.. so for this to work on a rogue without engineering...rogue has to be specc'd with 3/3 ruthlessness which "gives your melee finishing moves a 60% chance to add a combo point to your target" ?

So.. I'm only gon grab aggo if ruthlessness procs right?... which is 60%
if it doesnt proc, i have to jump down and redo the whole process..?

I definitely tried... cheapshotting -> jump down d water -> lose aggro -> run to the ledge -> hit SnD (i dont have ruthlessness) -> I failed to grab aggro 5x...

I'm about to respecc.. so i guess after i respec and if i wanna do this chest farming method.. i just have to /pray for ruthlessness to proc..

You mentioned that you have successfully done it many time with your druid.. can you post a vid of the druid maybe?

I worked out how to do it on my druid, you can do it even if you're feral or restoration.

1. Stealth to the given position
2. Cast Soothe Animal on the mob that is a beast until it resists, it will agro.
3. When they have almost reached you, jump down and get in the water to the right of the chest, swim down a yard or two, wait 10 seconds and then you will automatically go out of combat.
4. Loot the chest -> Catform -> Stealth -> Zone out / Zone in / Repeat

If you get a chest that is locked, simply move in and out of the instance, no need to reset.
I got two blues in about 6-7 chests, the caster staff whose name escapes me, something with "Death" i think and a blue gem :> Also note that the chest contains 6-7 gold and 2 green items which gives you approximately 10-11 gold each time you open it.
