Yes, it is the number of people tagging the mobs. A friend on a RP Realm invited me and we did the invasion in Tanaris; 70k each for all 3 elites. There have been like 5 people.

Next round on my server we received 35k for each elite. There have been like 50 people.

Yeah, if you haven't gotten the Stage 3 experience, there's no reason not to. I was just under the impression that resetting the invasions didn't give you Stage XP.

And yeah, I'm almost sure it's how many people tag the mob. I just did Westfall about 3 times. When the 3 Lieutenants spawn in Stage 2, the one furthest away from the zerg gave the most exp and the one everyone was hitting gave the least. But maybe they just give different amounts of experience, regardless of tapping, idk.

I'm unable to find up to date information about this (since the way tagging works changed in Legion PP). Is there a limit to how long a mob stays tagged when I hit it? Does the tag disappear after a certain distance if it's still being attacked? In other words, could I simply go from boss mob to boss mob, tagging them once and getting all the XP?

IIRC you only have to be in range of the mob/not let it reset to receive XP after tagging. But dont quote me on that.

This definitely seems to be the case. As long as I see the mob on the screen and I've tagged it (assuming it didn't reset), I've always received the experience. You can even drop combat and still maintain the tag.

For example, I got demolished by the Dreadlord boss south of Westfall after tagging it, spawned at the Graveyard, flew back, and still got XP because it died within view. I didn't even have to re-tag it.

The only ones I'm not completely sure about are the Stage 4 Megabosses because sometimes, you can be half way across the zone and still see them sometimes (Dun Morogh).

I certainly appear to be getting substantially less xp than i was last week like 20k for mobs when i was getting 37k last week , and im higher level now (it does depend how many people tag i think so someone else confirm)

Ill add a quick tip for people , whatever class you are find any instant good range skill (with no cooldown) and make a macro like i am using on my rogue (all but a couple of classes have one of these in one spec)

bind this to mouse scroll or something , you can just run arond scrolling your mouse and it will tag stuff for you, you have no control over your targeting so have another button for if you manually need to make sure you get the tag on it .

XP seems to be the same for me across my alts as it's been all week. Using all heirloom, minus the ring. Tested in the Barrens.

Stage 1 bosses give me ~5k-10k.
Stage 2 bosses give ~28k-38k.
Stage 3 bosses give ~58k.
Stage 4 boss gives ~63k.

So a hotfix this week? I'm not seeing it. I will say that I remember Stage 1 bosses giving me twice that early last week, but again, I'm not seeing a hotfix of any kind in the past day or so.
