You can get Chaos Crystals already

Simple trick:

create a demonhunter and complete the starting zone. You will probably get a few epic upgrades since all of the quest rewards are rare anyways.
Next step: learn enchanting and get the draenor enchanting book in stormshield. After that you can disenchant every epic you got and you will get chaos crystals.

A little heads up on this...I did this when the pre patch hit with the PvP reward bag gear. I got some of the legion enchanting mats amd put them on the AH. The next day they hotfixed it and removed the mats from the AH and my inventory. Don't know if that will happen with the demon hunter gear because technically they are part of legion content. Who knows

happened with cata, mop and wod stuff too

just sell it fast, maybe wrapping it in a present and sending it to an alt works
wrapping alone does not work, deleted one of my anniversary rep item that way

May already be fixed ... Put the Chaos Crystal in my bank this morning. Came back a few hours later to check on it and it was gone. May need more confirmation if it's fixed.

confirmed Chaos crystals I had in inventory are now deleted but there is still chaos crystals on auction house-eu

In Cata I've used to get a lot of skins from the sharks in wetlands, and after that I've mailed them (and didn't get the mail!) to my alt. None of them got removed.

As you said, you will get the Chaos Crystal for disenchanting. Left it in my bag over night and now it's gone.

Instead of trying to sell them now why not just sit on the gear until Legion then do it on day 1.
