Stag form as a Druid is not on the GCD and does not apply an Aura like other forms.

As you can see in this picture, a normal shapeshift has an Aura, or a buff, whatever you'd like to call it, indicating that you are in that form.

However, Stag form (the tome you get from the vendor in moonglade), does not have one of these. As you can see here.

Also, as you can see here, it is not on the GCD, meaning you can shift in and out as fast as you can press the button to bind it to, and it does break anything a normal shapeshift would, roots, snares, etc.

You can get this as a separate form from Moonglade, there is a vendor in the building on the right as you fly down into the main section, it costs ~40g.

Sorry if this has been posted. Found it about a week ago and never remembered to post it here.

EDIT: As of August 6, 2016, this has been fixed.

Shifting OUT of form is not on gcd, you can simply cancel the buff

Shifting in and out of stag form has 0 limitations. I'm aware that you can shift out of a form without it being on GCD, however, for breaking back to back roots/slows, this is very very good as you can just spam shift stag form until the roots/slows are done.

It's very helpful in one on one situations. Also, shifting out of a form puts a ~3 second cooldown on that form before you can go back into it, stag form does not have that.

To clarify the exploit, you'll need to understand how Druid shape-shifting works and what changed in the prepatch:

With the Legion prepatch Blizzard intentionally broke power-shifting (shifting out of a form and back into that same form in the same button press, triggering one GCD.) When you exit a form now that form is placed on a 1.5s cooldown but it does not trigger a GCD. This means you can still shift to break roots and slows twice every GCD (shift to another form and then unshift) but now you will be stuck outside of your original form for 1.5 seconds (assuming you started in a shapeshift.) Stag form breaks this 2 shifts per 1.5 second limit.

Stag form currently costs nothing, incurs no GCD and is off of the GCD. This means not only can you power-shift in Stag Form, but you can do it without any GCD limitation. This increases the number of times you can break roots and slows in 1.5 seconds to an infinite number.

The old power-shift macro still works for Stag Form:
    /use !Stag Form

This will break roots without you losing the movement speed increase from Stag form. Spam it at will. Have fun running flags in BGs!

you're wrong. in 7.0.3 druid shapeshifts incur a 1sec CD when leaving the form. powershifting has been nerfed.

Ops saying Stag form doesnt apply to the powershift nerf.

edit: billsteh explained it way better than i did. :P

Did you even read my post? Yes, shifting out triggers a CD on forms, but shifting in doesn't prevent you to shift out since its just an aura cancel.
I just tried to point out that if you need to cancel only one movement effect, this exploit is not really useful since it doesn't prevent the CD on your main form as feral/guardian/moonkin and you can already cancel roots instantly as resto.
But yes if you need to spam forms like escaping to players that spam roots, this is strong, props to OP.

Yeah, looks fixed on US. Was working earlier today, but stag form triggers the GCD now.

Tested this morning: this is now patched. stag now causes a 1.5sec CD as usual. still nice as an extra form to shift to though.
