This exploit is happening right now and there's nothing you need to do. Starter Edition accounts (Trials, or F2Ps) now can send and receive mail, join guilds, exceed 10g cap, level up until level 90, create Death Knights and pet battle. I've made a video about it:

wish this was working with accounts I let sub run out. just checked and cant log in on any toon that was over 20 and level 1s cant use mail box or anything so that sucks

This is BIG (especially for f2p players, even though it ruins their "classic" gameplay)

I got 2 wow-accounts on 1 EU b-net acc. The first one is with active subscription, the second is trial.
On trial wow-acc I've managed to lvl 21+, type in /LFG etc.
I've invited myself via RAF on same b-net (wow3) and sadly new wow-acc has all the trial restrictions.

Okay, it appears not to be working for every F2P account. It seems that only old accounts (not the freshly created ones) can get this. Furthermore, all the people on my server with this going on were not linked to P2P account. I don't know which accounts exactly this works with.

I tested on my trial account I've had for a few years for miscellaneous exploits and I can log into the Death Knights I created years ago that I used to not be able to log into and could send mail, but my account page still says it is a starter edition.

It seems like Blizzard MAY be expanding the trial account limitations finally and just a few account are being flagged for it so far.

Update: Can even use the AH, will next trade gold for a token and see what happens if I use a WoW Token without the base game.

OK! So I found something big with the Wow Token! I traded enough gold to the "Trial Account" to buy a token and went to the AH and purchased it, it then let me add it to my account even though I had no base game and after doing so I now have the base game on that account.

Confirmed! My game time expired 3 days ago but im still playing ) can do everything in game. do not noticed any change.
