I don't think that will change the size of the nameplate.

Do this trick with starter acc = win.

If you grab it quick enough i found that using cross realm assist will take you to a different server where you can try get away without being noticed, also rogues are good for this

I think stealth items and abilities + using toys and items to minimize your char are a need in order to reduce the risks
+ what Vasco said leave the useless items inside the chest.

I have done this almost every time in darkmoon fair, i started doing this at November 2015, i dont have any ban for this yet.
Even autoclicker and standing afk to autoloot all chests.

Yeah for any people not wanting to get banned - use anything with stealth. Even in the close proximity of players above, they wont be able to see your name plate if you're stealthed. Loot only the trinket, re stealth, and GTFO. It won't announce your name and people can still loot the rest of it. Blizzard requires you to actually right click their name and report, and most people won't notice you, /tar your character, and report before you're gone.

its not true.... they can report the problem with the chest and blizzard will check who looted it.... no need to report the player
