Hellfire Citadel item dupe

So yesterday I was planning to do Hellfire Citadel Normal with my guildies and everything was going smooth and I got quite a few pieces of loot for my warrior. So I've decided to equip the new boots that I've got(Shell-Resistant Stompers) and before equiping them I had the Truesteel Boots(I think around ilvl 690) and I continued doing the raid. But a few minutes later I ended up dying in a boss fight(the big fat guy with teeth on his stomach)... And as soon as I've died I noticed the mail icon flicker on my screen, I thought it must of been some lost item or something.. As we finished with the raid, I've decided to go back to Stormwind and check my mail while I was there... What happened was that I've received my old boots(the Truesteel ones) and they were not souldbound( it said "binds when equipped", and when I checked my inventory my old, soulbonded ones were still there, so I realized that somehow I dupped my item and I sold the boots on the AH... I don't know if it was a glitch just for me or something, but I think this should be looked into


*For some reason it was listed as Gold Dupe, it's an Item Dupe though

I think you just received a new pair of those boots. This could happen when you forgot to loot some trash mob that forced to despawn.

In HFC, if a player leaves any gear loot in a trash corpse, the loot will be instantly mailed to the owner at the very moment when the corpse becomes unavailable. This is how it works.

The truesteel boots are the crafted boots. Those don't drop

It sounds a lot like you simply got confused and like Zemsta said had a BoE drop mail to you from the postmaster of the same ilevel as your old boots.

Some people were saying that I might have gotten the boots off a trash drop or something, I didn't. The boots I used to have were bought off the Ah, they are made by blacksmithing, and mine were soulbonded, but later on I received the same Truesteel boosts just sellable, so something in fact did happen

Truesteel boots are indeed crafted, they do not drop from any encounter.

Very nice find. And like so often with dupes of any kind, they appear to be So out of the box, that it just cant be possible (looking at it for the first time).

Now the question is - and that is the truth for all greater things you uncover in life, you want to share and people want to experience it like you yourself did:

Can you replicate it, can you make it happen again? that is the part that then requires true skill (and ofc paying attention enough the moment it actually happened)

Ashoran states that he was able to receive a pair of BoA crafted boots via in-game postmaster mail after did a wipe on Gorefiend. There's no explanation on how can we reproduce this, so it stays as a mystery - which is equal to "useless" in Exploits forum until he's willing to give more details on how can we do this.

He Had His Old Crafted Boots in his bags because he upgraded them with HFC ones Earlier

Then After he Wiped on Gorefiend He got Mail! this Mail Contained a Pair of Boots Crafted by a Skilled Blacksmith That you can Wear At Level 91(But thats another story)

BUT! he also still had His Crafted Pair of boots in his BAGs! omg. So now he has 1 soulbound pair and 1 Bind on Equip Pair!!

they cost <1000 gold for Basic Ones and can go upto 50-60k Depending on your server.

Yes we got that, as you can read I briefly tried to replicate that with all steps the OP mentioned and it does not work. So clearly the OP overlooked a crucial part that triggered that event, the "dupe".

That is / could be:

Did only he wipe?
Did the entire raid wipe?
On what attack did he wipe?
What exact action did he perform with his boots?
If you have more indepth knowledge about dupes, you might know that certain inventory slots are bugged, coupled with certain bags that are bugged, so on which inventory slot did he have any kind of boots?
Which upgrade were the boots on?
Did he have full inventory?
Was his inbox full?
Considering everything that was recently connected with any kind of dupe - Etc etc etc

It does look very simple on the outside but it gets really complex (not difficult, but complex) the more you understand whats really going on and how interwoven everything is.
