Get follower experience while they are inactive.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Did a search, didn't find anything similar to this.

Earlier today I got Harrison Jones and deactivated my Ahm to make room for him, who was attached to my enchanting building. Just a moment ago I looted work orders from my enchanting building (which no longer has Ahm working at it) and Ahm still gained experience.

Steps:
1. Have follower attached to a profession building
2. deactivate this follower from the mission table
3. Loot work orders from profession building
4. Follower gained experience

Since 6.1.2 (I think) when work order is complete, your follower who is assigned to this building will get xp, but XP will be granted after you collect that work orders. So since work orders were probably completed before your deactivated this follower, he still get xp.

So imho it is working as intended until you can have follower assigned to building after he is deactivated or he stays assigned even when deactivated.

I just completed three work orders, which all completed while my Ahm was deactivated, and he recieved experience.

So, these completed work orders should not be giving him experience, since he wasn't assigned to the building while they were completed.

Was he assigned to that building for 9h before looting orders? 3 orders * 3h/per order. Looting orders is not moment when they were completed.

He's been inactive for a few days now, he has not been assigned to that building since I got Harrison Jones early yesterday.

Well try it out since OP is talking a bit bullshi: "For a few days", while his first post he mentions "earlier today" so 1 day ago is not a few days.

Could still work though. Since you can get double work order yield if you add a follower AFTER the orders completed. So I'd say it probably works.

Tested it today :
- Activate a follower with Enchanter trait ;
- Affect it to Enchanting building ;
- Desactivate it right away.

After a night, I took the work orders. The desactivated follower received 5400 xp for completing 3 Work Orders (which is about the night time : 3* 4 hours).

Indeed : this works. Good job !

PS : Even though it does give him xp, the follower's bonus isn't applied to the building.
